Vesicouterine Fistula Caused by Intrauterine Device


Abstract
This study was performed on the nursing activities given to the patients during the period from Apr. 1 to Apr. 30, 1981. The subjects were 537 hospitalized patients in Seoul National University Hospital at that time.
1. The followings are the degrees of the patients¢¥ satisfaction to the hospital environmentaI elements. Among the responders 76.7% replied environmental noise was tolerable, and 87.5% felt comfortable in illumination, 49% in ventilation, 67% in room temperature, 55. 1% in humidity, 84.7% in the orderly arrangement of surroundings, and 81.2% in the cleanliness of linen. The degree of feeling discomfort in ventilation was the highest upto 49.9%.
2. Among responders, 79.3% showed satisfaction to nurses attitude toward the patients. 3. Among responders, 89.4% showed positive response in nursing care rounds. 4. Nursing activities concerned with orientation on patients¢¥ admission.
a. Orientation about the hospital regulations was done to 62.2% of patients..
b. Orientation about the ward structure was done to 44.3% of patients.
c. In 68. 5% of the cases, patients were taught about how to. use nurse, call. Orientation about other facilities, such as water closet, bedside light, fan coil, etc, was done to about 50% of the patients.
5. Nursing activities concerned with the patients needs.
a. In 57.8% of the cases, nurses gave immediate help when patients needed assistance in activities of daily life.
b. In 80.5% of the cases, nurses listened to patients complaints.
c. In 92.9% of the cases, nurses explained poperly the reason why not to meet the patients needs.
d. In 80.3%, nurses gave explanation before nursing care and procedures were ¢¥taken.
e. In 84.8%¢¥ of the cases, patients replied nurses carried out, nursing activities¢¥ with exact method at exact time.
f. Among responders, 74.6% of the patients replied nurses checked and evaluated the results of each procedure taken.
g. In 45.6%, nurses-made provisions to provide privacy to patients-ddr ng examination and treatment.
h. In 18.5%, nurses provided psychological support-to the -patientsexperiehcing, anxiety and fear.
